Feeling like you missed the circus when it was in town? Never fear, as Long Beach's long-running Live After 5 series will feature a crazy, old-school circus feel of the Barnum and Bailey variety. Lucky John, a self-proclaimed “purveyor of freaks” has some wicked friends to bring, namely Captain and Maybelle, a pair of sword swallowers, who will attempt to swallow the world's heaviest sword. To add in this carnivalesque atmosphere will be stilt-walkers, fire dancers, a balloon-manipulating extraordinaire (another way of saying “balloon animal-maker?) and live performances by LB vaudevillian band Sex! Money! Power! and Leather Tramp. So come and hang out with this wild and odd cast of carnies— gooble gobble gooble gobble, they accept you, you're one of them now.
