[Listen] Bjork + the Dirty Projectors' Mount Wittenberg Orca

We've waited long enough: Mount Wittenberg Orca, the Bjork/Dirty Projectors collab, will now be out on LP and CD on October 24/25.

The hand-numbered, limited edition LP version will have a 3D lenticular sleeve, 180 gram heavyweight vinyl and a 12 page large-format full color booklet. It's pretty pricey at $28 (plus $6 for shippng), but a very limited number of the LPs will come with an exclusive Dirty Projectors signed photo print of the album cover when ordered from Domino Records (pre-order it here).

David Longstreth wrote the Mount Wittenberg
Orca music
in five days in May 2009, following a conversation with Björk about the
small theaters in Italy where opera was born in the 1500s. The suite was
originally performed unamplified in Manhattan bookstore Housing Works
the following month.

All proceeds from the
digital sales from http://www.mountwittenbergorca.com went to the National Geographic Society for the project of creating
international marine protected areas, since nspiration for the EP
came when Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors saw a pod of whales off the
coast while hiking at Mount Wittenberg  at
Point Reyes National Seashore in Northern  California.
