Left of the Dial Reopens New Santa Ana Location

Every now and then, it's nice to be able to say that you can't keep a good record store down. A little over a month after shuttering their old location in Seal Beach, revered wax palace Left of the Dial has reemerged in SanTana. That's right, no more tussling with the Bermuda triangle of shittiness between the 405 and 605 freeways to get to this record store. We got word from owner Geoff Leamon over the weekend that the new storefront is located on 320 French St. Over the weekend, the grand opening signified one more local business being harvested into the eye of OC.

Last November, we reported that the store was closing the Seal Beach
location to open a pop up store in Los Alamitos after several years of
the horrible traffic situation on the streets began jeopardizing the
traffic in his store…as if record stores in general aren't getting
pummeled enough.

It's definitely been a struggle in Seal Beach,”
Leamon said at the time. “We've been looking for a new place for a
while. It sucks,
but it's also because a blessing in disguise once we move to our new
permanent location.” Even though some beach city locals are pouting
about the sudden close of the store, most customers have been pretty
okay with it, according to Lemon. Last Saturday, the new LOD was
christened with it's first in-store event courtesy of DJ Dennis Owens,
50 Story Tenants and The Thingz. We expect to hear a lot more from
Leamon and company in the future so stay tuned.
