Kimchi-making season is upon us, and what better way to learn how to make some or buy a couple of jars than from the apprentice to the master: Lauryn Chun, the head of Mother-In-Law Kimchi, whose mother runs Jang Mo Gip in Garden Grove. Nowadays based in New York, Chun is doing a tour of Whole Foods in Southern California demoing the Korean standard–and is stopping by the mega-Whole Foods in Tustin this Sunday for her only OC appearance.
It'll happen from 11 p.m.-3 p.m. “I
am going to have to talk up leftovers turkey sandwiches with kimchi–that would be a good twist on cranberry relish plus the probiotics,” Chun says. “Lots
of work ahead but really looking forward to meeting a bunch of new
folks and introducing healthy 'proobiotic' addition to the Thanksgiving
Day meal and leftover solutions.”
