Lakers Return to Honda Center Oct. 19

The Lakers are down 2-0 to the Mavs, and if they lose tonight in Dallas all hope will be lost for a three-peat.

Speaking of elimination, the Honda Center in Anaheim won't be the home of an NBA team for at least another season.

At least we have this: the Lakers' just-released 2011 exhibition schedule includes an Oct. 19 date at the Honda Center, continuing a streak where Newport Coast resident Kobe Bryant's team has played at least one exhibition game in Anaheim every
year since 1999.

True, obits are already being written for the champs of the past two seasons. But, we've seen the Lakers respond with their backs against the wall before. Buying tickets to the Honda Center game you'll be rolling the dice on whether you will see another champion–or a team in rebuild mode.

The Lakers' other exhibition games are: in Fresno Oct. 9 against the Golden State Warriors; in Ontario Oct. 12 against the Atlanta Hawks; at Staples Center Oct. 15 against the Hawks and Oct. 16 against Utah; in Las Vegas Oct. 21 against Anaheim–I mean–Sacramento; in San Diego Oct. 25 against the Clippers; and in Bakersfield Oct. 27 against the Clips.

Tickets for all but the Staples Center games go on sale at 10
a.m. Monday through Ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 4-NBA-TIX.
