La La La Human Steps

Combining traditional ballet with quick, jerking movements and choppy choreography, the aesthetic of a La La La Human Steps routine is actually kind of distorting. But that's the way they like it. With each performance, the company seeks to rediscover the human body and reinvent the expectations of dance. For the first time in a decade, La La La Human Steps returns to the Barclay to perform their 30th anniversary project, simply titled “The New Work,” a story in movement inspired by the love stories of Dido and Aeneas, and Orfeo and Eurydice. Catch them this week in Irvine—just try not to blink too much.
