Twenty-one-year-old Kreayshawn might have a ton of haters for her white chick hipster anthem “Gucci Gucci,” but guess she's having the last laugh. Not only has she signed to Columbia on the strength of that single alone, now she's directing the Red Hot Chili Peppers video for their latest, “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie.” It's the first single off I'm With You, their first studio album in more than five years.
The collaboration was confirmed by both acts' labels, Warner Bros. and Columbia, on MTV News. .
According to the MTV story, “part of the reason Kreayshawn decided to ink a deal with Columbia Records was because they agreed to let her continue to make music videos.
She said, “”Columbia was the best just because they were like, 'We want you to do
exactly what you've been doing,' which is, like, I've been directing
music videos, so they were like, 'We want you to keep doing that,' ” she
said. “You know, I do a little graphic design, and they had me make my
own logo, you know?”
