Let's just get this out of the way: Disneyland has become way too effing expensive. Almost a hundred bucks just to get in the door? And no alcohol?! We think not. That's why we love Knott's so much, especially when the park gets all gussied up for the holidays. Knott's Merry Farm features all the amusement park fun we can handle—fried deliciousness, roller-coasters, kitschy log rides, silly souvenir shopping—but for about half the cost of D-Land (and you can go online to buy even further discounted tickets). And they have booze! Hit up the adorable Santa's Christmas Cabin for an especially festive selection of winter wines and craft beers. And after you get all liquored up, watch Snoopy skate around in his Ice Spectacular and frolic in some man-made snow in Ghost Town. What a perfect way to spend Christmas Eve.
