The family of a girl who was 6 when she was allegedly injured on the Knott's Berry Farm Timber Mountain Log Ride is suing the Buena Park theme park in Orange County Superior Court.

Punitive damages and the cost of medical bills for Kristine Laborte are being sought in the suit that was filed Monday.
She was sitting with her father in the flume ride on July 27, 2014, when their floating log reached the bottom of a long drop and stopped suddenly. The complaint claims the girl's face smashed into the back of the seat in front of her, causing her to lose consciousness, suffer a broken orbital bone and experience vision problems.
The suit further contends that the California Department of Occupational Safety and Health had previously notified Knott's about safety issues with the log ride, citing nine incidents between 2000 and 2014.
Knott's declined to comment on the suit.
