Kirin Releases The First Fat-Busting Cola

Kirin, the Japanese beverage company that brought us beer foam and many memorable nights that began with the chant, “Sake-bomb-sake bomb,” has come out with a new drink, one that's supposed to help you lose weight.
Sadly, it's not a beer.

Kirin Mets Cola is being pegged the first-ever “healthy cola.” The drink contains an “indigestible form of dextrin that can be used as a fiber supplement, which restricts the body's ability to absorb fat while eating.” Dextrin fiber supplements have been known to cause gas and bloating, so, um, you may not be much fun after chugging down a bottle.
The drink doesn't contain sweeteners and tests have shown that the drink keeps levels of neutral fats low after eating, according to the company.
Perhaps we'll find it on shelves at Mitsuwa soon.
