One of my favorite websites is the Smoking Gun, that beautiful home to wacko crimes, mugshots and a seemingly yearly investigative scoop that becomes the talk of the country. They appear to be plugged into every police agency in the United States because the stuff they get is always gold–like the recent revelation that the Escambia County Sheriff's Department in Florida booked KFC's Double Down Sandwich into jail.

Okay, so maybe the story isn't so straightforward. The booking did happen, but only for technical reasons. As the Smoking Gun explained, “A law-enforcement agency will place a fake mug shot into its online system for testing or training purposes” before referring to the Double Down as a “bun-free abomination.” Just in case you're interested, the Double Down's human apparition was listed by the sheriff's department as a 41-year-old white male.
