KCRW's Good Food Wants Your Pie

If you've ever wondered whether I, like Edwin, am another figment of Gustavo's diseased imagination, now's your chance to see the truth: I will be a judge at KCRW's third annual Good Food Pie Contest. The event is Sunday, September 18 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

More importantly, though: Evan Kleiman, the other judges and I want to
taste your pie. You've got five categories in which to wow us: fruit,
cream/chiffon/mousse, nut, savory and my personal favorite–pies inspired
by Tim Burton and his creations. I dare someone to bring in a great pie
based on “Stalk of the Celery”–I dare you.

There are still slots available; pie registration must be complete by Saturday, September 12 and costs $10 per pie. There will, of course, be awesome prizes. Click here for the information and registration page.

If you don't want to bake, but just want to bask in the reflected glory
of all that pie, there's no fee to enter; just bring yourself and watch
as we make our way through four hundred thousand calories in a single
day. In the meantime, tune in to Good Food every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at 89.9 KCRW.
