Judge Dismisses McDonald's Happy Meal Class Action Lawsuit


Last week we heard about the woman who was suing McDonald's for making her become a prostitute. The week before that it was another hot coffee lawsuit. Here's this week's installment in McDonald's legal news:   

Yesterday a judge in San Francisco threw out a lawsuit filed against McDonald's alleging that their Happy Meals unfairly targeted children because it included a free toy. The Center for Science in the Public Interest, the nutrition advocacy group that backed the suit, is considering the possibility of an appeal.

It had sought to stop the company from using the toys to market to kids. “In time, the practice of using toys to market junk food will seem as inappropriate and anachronistic as lead paint, child labor and asbestos,” their spokesman said.
