Jose Rodriguez Jr., 14, Apparently Commits Suicide-by-Cop


The Orange County District Attorney's office is investigating a bizarre shooting involving a 14-year-old boy killed by Santa Ana Police after he apparently called cops to say an armed man was in his neighborhood. Jose Rodriguez Jr. was holding a shotgun with a pistol grip when officers arrived to the 400 block of East Wisteria
Place around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, and he was shot after refusing to drop the weapon, Santa Ana Police say.

The Santa Ana High School freshman died shortly after midnight today at the hospital.

Police are not yet saying how many rounds officers fired as the investigation into the apparent suicide-by-cop continues.
