It took jurors less than two hours to agree that Jonathan Huynh strangled and stabbed his 20-year-old girlfriend to death.
Huynh, 22, of Mission Viejo, was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in last year's slaying of Cal State Long Beach student Kate Su Yi.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram has the scoop.
Yi's body was found on April 2, 2009, inside a closet in her apartment in the 700 block of Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach, near the veteran's hospital.
She had been strangled and stabbed three times in the back of the head and neck three days earlier, according to prosecutors.
At the time of Yi's death, she was breaking up with Huynh, who was arrested two days after her body was discovered. He is likely to be sentenced Oct. 20 to 26 years to life in state prison, the P-T reports.
