On April 4, the orangest thing in Irvine will not be the Orange County Great Park balloon.
It will be a certain speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

John Boehner is scheduled to appear at a dinner that evening at the home of Michelle and David Horowitz, where for $1,000 anyone can attend the 6 p.m. reception followed by 7 p.m. supper. And for $32,400 you can also drop in for the 5:30 p.m. host committee reception, get two seats for the dinner and have photos taken with the Ohio congressman. Hurry, because some are predicting Boehner will soon be turned out as House speaker, after which those photos won't fetch as much on eBay.
Mr. Speaker is bringing along with him fellow Republican Members of Congress Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach), Ed Royce (R-Fullerton), John Campbell (R-Irvine) and Ken Calvert (R-Hookersville). Which reminds me . . .
