Sometimes it's not the post office worker who goes postal.
Late on a Saturday afternoon last December, a female mail carrier wearing the standard issue blue and gray uniform arrived at an Anaheim residence, left a package at the front door, returned to her vehicle and suddenly entered the Twilight Zone.
As she attempted to drive away, Lisa Geraldine Cangiano, an irate woman who lived at that residence, drove up in a blue Toyota and blocked her departure.
Cangiano wasn't upset about tardy delivery, crumpled mail or regular price increases for postage.
Somehow–it's not exactly clear why–she got in her mind that the mail carrier was having a sexual affair with her live-in boyfriend and she'd arrived just in time to catch her leaving the house after an intimate rendezvous.

“What the fuck are you doing here at my house?” Cangiano said before she slapped the carrier across the face, pulled her hair, grabbed her shoulder, dragged her out of the postal truck and screamed profanities.
The carrier explained she didn't know her boyfriend and had only left a package at the front door, but Cangiano didn't believe her.
Hearing the commotion, the boyfriend opened the front door, deduced the issue and gave the swirling index finger to the ear signal that she “was crazy,” according to court records.
Cangiano, who was born in 1974, let the carrier go, but not before saying, “If I ever see you again, I will fucking kill you.”
It's a federal crime to attack an on-duty postal worker.
Last month following an investigation by postal inspectors, Cangiano signed a guilty plea and faces a maximum imprisonment of one year plus a $100,000 fine.
Inside Orange County's Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse, a sentencing date has not yet been selected by U.S. District Court Judge Josephine L. Staton, who is presiding in the bizarre case.
