Orange County's coroner has identified a 23-year-old man who was shot and killed early Sunday in what Anaheim Police believe was a gang-related homicide as Jared Smith of Orange.

Investigators have little to go on. Officers were dispatched to the apartment building at 3424 W. Olinda Ave. around 2 a.m. Sunday about a felony assault, according to Anaheim Police Lt. Eric Trapp.
They discovered Smith, who had been shot and who paramedics would pronounce dead at the scene, said Trapp, who did not disclose why investigators believe the shooting was gang related.
