Giving Children Hope, a Buena Park-based nonprofit that has been helping Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan since 2012, reportedly had its website hacked by a group identifying itself as Team System Dz, an ISIS sympathizer.

“It's a little nerve-wracking,” Sean Lawrence, executive director of the Christian-based organization that delivers aid to children and families in need around the world, tells the Orange County Register. “But this is our mission. If people didn't do the right thing because of stuff like this, the world would be a dark place.”
Around 10 a.m. Monday, Giving Children Hope employees saw that its homepage had been replaced by a black screen with “Hacked by Team System Dz” written in red and “i love isis” (sic) in white lettering, the Register reports.
The nonprofit immediately took down its website, contacted an information-technology worker and, within a few hours, the site was back up without personal or donor information having been compromised, claims the report.
Team System Dz has been blamed for hacking hundreds of websites since July, when tensions ignited between Israel and militants in Gaza.
