Indie Tuesdays: Fire in Cairo

Scoring a weekly residency at a hip little venue such as La Cave is the equivalent to solid gold in the world of unsigned bands. This month, the Costa Mesa lounge’s Indie Tuesdays belong to the OC/LA band Fire In Cairo. The band cite such standard influences as the Pixies, the Smiths and the Cure (duh), but Fire In Cairo manage to keep their classic-alt-rock roots solid while adding a catchy pop riff here, a dance-steady beat there—and look what we have: radio-friendly indie rock ready to serve to the hungry masses of hipster kids looking for the next “We heard them first” big thing.

Tuesdays, 9 p.m. Starts: Nov. 16. Continues through Nov. 30, 2010
