Nine-year-old Natalia (last names aren't provided in juvenile court records) is the oldest child of an Orange County mother who has given birth to five kids from five fathers.
County officials were forced to take custody of Natalia and her younger siblings because, while their mother was incarcerated for an unknown crime, their grandmother physically abused them.
Eventually, Natalia's father was located in Utah, and a judge gave him custody because, according to the court, he'd proved to be a loving, protective parent.

Yet despite her mother's problems, Natalia continues to love her and hopes to visit OC to see her.
“Dear Irene,” she wrote to her mom, “I miss you so much.”
