It might surprise people to know that Holly Golightly's name is actually Holly Golightly, after the Truman Capote heroine (or anti-heroine?) in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The English singer-songwriter has made her own name for herself as a garage rock and blues musician, getting her start in the Billy Childish project Thee Headcoatees and collaborating with Rocket From the Crypt and The White Stripes. But on her own, Golightly has exuded '60s punk cool with her sultry voice reminiscent of classic girl groups like The Shangri-Las and Ellie Greenwood. Now with The Brokeoffs, Holly Golightly continues to explore new musical territory to adapt to her retro sound, giving it a touch that is uniquely her own.
