Henry Clay People Record Release At Spaceland

If you've been missing The Henry Clay People in your life (hey, they did up and move to LA), prepare to miss them some more this summer. The band is touring with Silversun Pickups and Against Me! (and playing Austin City Limits besides), so you're not going to see them much in SoCal…unless you go to Spaceland on June 8 for their record release show.

The new album is called Somewhere on the Golden Coast. To cull from a 2006 OC Weekly writeup of the band, they make “concise and catchy rock songs” that are “best seen live. Whether they're accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation
in a university lecture hall or donning some ridiculous Halloween
costumes, rest assured that there'll be lots of energy and youth.”

Here's a sneak peek. Download and listen to “Slow Burn.”

The Henry Clay People
perform with the Hectors, Tuesday, June 8,  8 p.m.
at Spaceland, 1717 Silver Lake Blvd., Los Angeles. $10.
