10. Music Reviews of Selena Gomez and Ryan Adams

Selena Gomez performed at the Pacific Amphitheater at the OC Fair this summer, and her slideshow easily averaged about 200,000 page views. Ryan Adams' San Diego stop didn't allow for photographers, but hand-drawn drawings led to a mention on Ryan Adam's Facebook page!

9. Avenged Sevenfold Names Arin Ilejay as New Drummer

Huntington Beach-based Avenged Sevenfold suffered a loss in December 2009 when drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan passed away at age 28.

When Avenged Sevenfold named Arin Ilejay (formerly of defunct “metalcore” band Confide) as their newest member right before they went on tour with with Stonesour, Hollywood Undead and New Medicine, on the  “Nightmare After Christmas” tour, people were nostalgic for the Rev, but lauded the fact that the Huntington Band was moving on.

5. Frances Bean Cobain's Engagement

4. That Monster
Massive fiasco

Monster Massive,
an annual Halloween mega-rave, advertised that their 2011
event–featuring Armin van Buuren,
Erick Morillo and Moby–was going to be held at Oak Canyon Ranch in
Silverado. Apparently, this was news to Oak Canyon Ranch's event
planner, James Events, which said Monster Massive will not
be held there, despite counter-statements by the event's promoters.
After we broke that news, sources told us Go
Ventures, Monster Massive's organizers, did not have a contract with any
venue
, and that they misled van Buuren into thinking the event was going to push through. The event was (as expected) canceled days before it was supposed to be held.

3. Lil Wayne Rips Apart Kreayshawn's 'Gucci Gucci' on His New Mixtape

2. Ten Album Covers Improved by Cats

Not only did this post generate a Tumbler copycat, I got people from all over the world sending it back to me and saying “congratulations.” Uh, for what? For acknowledging that cats rule the Internet?
