It's been about a year now since Aaron Kushner bought the Orange County Register, so the paper is riding a wave of publicity marking that anniversary. That was the focus of my Monday KCRW-FM 89.9 “Orange County Line” commentary, and although I made sure to sneak in my usual criticism of Kushner–that he's the Stuart Smalley of print journalism for his feel-good thoughts on what a newspaper should do–I also pointed out that he's put his money where his mouth is. In fact, this might be the nicest criticism I'll ever have of the Register.
