Gay Rights Advocates To Protest Chick-Fil-A With Same-Sex Kissing In Front of Restaurants

In what may be the boldest and most effective method of protest against Chick-Fil-A, whose president openly proclaimed his anti-gay stance last week, gay rights advocates are planning a National Same-Sex Kiss Day on Friday, Aug. 3 at locations nationwide. The event, organizers write sarcastically, is to “thank” the chain for its “support of love, equality, and the real definition of family.” All are invited to grab a same-sex partner or pal you wouldn't mind smooching, head to your nearest Chick-Fil-A, and go at it as the company's religious execs squirm. (This is happening in addition to the Laguna Hills protest on Thursday.)

Aug. 1 happens to be former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, which invites people to eat at the chain to “affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse.”
It's a great shame that these events aren't happening on the same day.
National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-Fil-A currently has more than 3,500 RSVPs.
Writes one attendee: “I am a straight Christian male. I have never eaten Chick-Fil-a and have never really wanted to, but I still feel like attending this event to show support to all of my gay and lesbian friends. I'll even kiss another man.”
