Friendly Frank’s Five Dollar Funnies may sound like a gag gift shop you pass on your way to the porn theater, but in this instance it refers to the Irvine Improv’s Tuesday night standup show. Say goodbye to the usual $25 cover charge and the overinflated national headliner, and say hello to Friendly Frank’s Midwestern comedy at bargain basement prices. His only request: Be sure to ask before you touch his fro! So scrape together your pocket change and come out for the comedic stylings of Josh Nasar, Matt Claybrooks, Marcella Arguello, Walter Reyes and, of course, Friendly Frank. It’s a small price to pay for such enjoyable company.
