Food for Thought Film Series

By now, everyone is aware how much crap is actually snuck into packaged and processed foods. And folks aren't going to stand for it. The terms “sustainable” and “organic” have become as commonplace and “salt” and “pepper;” farmers markets are becoming more preferable to mega-chain grocery stores, and farm-to-table is the new definition of fine dining. For this session of the Food for Thought film series, the City of Irvine’s Community Services Urban Agricultural Programs Division presents Growing Cities, a documentary about urban farming in the Unites States. From abandoned parking lots to forgotten rooftops, people are transforming sections of their towns into lush, produce-bountiful farms and gardens. Guests are invited to brings lawn chairs, blankets and (healthy!) picnic dinners.
