The second in a series of
winter storms that hit today caused the County of Orange to activate its regional
emergency notification system, AlertOC.
]
AlertOC allows the county and 31 participating cities to geographically
target emergency messages to neighborhoods directly impacted
by storm conditions. The issuance of a “shelter in place” message for severely
flooded neighborhoods or an “evacuation order” for potential debris
flow locations are examples of how AlertOC may be used.
With the weatherman claiming the worst is yet to
come, those who live and work in Orange County are encouraged to
register at www.AlertOC.com to receive the important communications. After signing up for the free service,
you can receive the messages by phone, text and/or e-mail.
