Election Night Music in OC/LB

Sure, it's fun to sit at home on election night and watch the results come in. I mean, think of all the great moments: Russert with the whiteboard, Florida “erroneously” being called for Gore, and, uh, other things that happened in years other than 2000.

But what if you could watch these things – and listen to live music at the same time? Oh yes, it's possible. Here are some election night music events going down tomorrow.

]

Ingrid Michaelson at the House of Blues, Anaheim: Michaelson, best known for “Grey's Anatomy”-approved hit “The Way I Am,” isn't explicitly political, but that's not stopping the HOB from calling her show a “Special Election Night Celebration.” If you bring your “I Voted” sticker, you'll “Snag a Free Limited Edition Poster.” Sorry, early voters! They're also promising “Special Election Drink N Food Specials,” and TVs tuned in to CNN. Great news for Blitzerphiles, but alienating those of us looking forward to (knock on wood) watching MSNBC's Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann climax simultaneously as results come in (joke lifted from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog).

Election Night Bash at the Gypsy Lounge: Music from Jameson, AJ Degrasse, Tim Flannery, Wonderlove lead singer Chris Paul Overall and The Heligoats, all accompanied by “cheap food and drink specials.” Just like the founding fathers intended!

DJ Velvet Touch Birthday Bash at The Prospector: Well, I'm not actually sure what this has to do with the election, but the flier does say “election day” on it and is flag-themed, so I'll give them benefit o' th' doubt. I'm sure DJ Velvet Touch loves democracy.

Know of any other events? Let me know.
