For future generations to understand what bands from the '80s both helped defined the decade's sound and inspired future waves of music to come, one must consider Echo N the Bunnymen as pivotal in the '80s rock music scene. From Liverpool, the early incarnation of the group birthed numerous albums that soared to the UK charts, with their albums Porcupine and Ocean Rain cited as masterpieces. Since then, singer Ian McCulloch has launched his own solo career before the band's eventual reunion, and they've continued touring and recording new material to renewed commercial success. Tonight's show at Pacific Amphitheatre should hopefully rekindle the love of adoring fans who've been with them since the early years, and capture the attention of potential new fans.
