Starbucks, according to several sources, may have a secret menu where one can conceivably order items with code names such as “Captain Crunch” and “Oreo Frappuccino.” These drinks don't necessarily contain those ingredients, and are often just rejiggered recipes of their normal drinks with a few of their existing syrups and flavorings added. The so-called Raspberry Cheesecake, for instance, is apparently just the white chocolate mocha with a few pumps of raspberry syrup
Nevertheless, the suits are denying the existence of a secret menu…and most of the sites that mention it warn that some baristas won't necessarily be aware that it exists either.
Coincidentally, or perhaps fortuitously, Starbucks did introduce two real new Frappuccino flavors in a press release distributed yesterday, including Mocha Cookie Crumble and Chocolate Cookie Crumble Creme…but somehow, it just doesn't have the same resonance as the off-menu “secret” stuff. Maybe the company should take a cue from those rogue baristas who reportedly have concocted a Nutella and Chocolate Pumpkin flavor. Now those, I'd try.
