Declan Paul Nieblas of Prominent San Juan Capistrano Family Accused of Elder Abuse

A member of one of San Juan Capistrano's founding families–founding as in the city, not the land itself, kemosabi–is fighting allegations in court of elder abuse. Declan Paul Nieblas reportedly pleaded not guilty Monday Harbor Justice Center to felony inflicting
injury on an elderly adult, false imprisonment of an elder or dependent
adult by violence and dissuading a witness by force.

Orange County sheriff's deputies, who patrol San Juan Capistrano, were called Jan. 24 to Seasons Senior Apartments on Rancho Viejo Road, which is where 56-year-old Nieblas was arrested, reports Patch.com.

The must be cuff grooves in his wrists by now. Patch's Penny Arévalo reports Nieblas in the recent past has pleaded guilty to and served jail and probation time for violating a
protective/stay-away order–with counts of inflicting injury on an elder adult and disobeying a domestic-relations
court order dismissed–as well as misdemeanor inflicting
injury on an elder adult and damaging a wireless device used to contact
law enforcement.
