Although her ABC sitcom Cristela came to an abrupt close, the fact that a female Latina comic got her own sitcom on network television is a feat in itself. Cristela Alonzo has been in the stand-up business for almost two decades, coming to prominence in comedy circles in her hometown of Dallas, Texas, before later relocating to Los Angeles. Much of Alonzo's comedy is based on her true life experiences and penchant for humor as a way to cope with life's hardships, and in turn, allowed others to find the comedy in their own lives. With her relatable humor, good spirits and an infectious, booming laugh, Alonzo won't be straying away fans, who will surely be present to joke around with her at tonight's stand up engagement.
