So you survived Monday, but the Tuesday blues have a solid grip. A buildup of creative energy is about to rupture, and there’s no way you’re going to make it to the weekend. Find your way to Viento y Agua, where a few lucky Tuesdays of the month become the coffeehouse’s open-mic night. Hosted by Alyssandra Nighswonger, the venue invites poets and musicians of all walks to its warm, friendly stage to share their passion and talent with Long Beach’s Fourth Street regulars. Insult comics need to find another outlet, however— Viento y Agua clearly states that no comedy, sexism, racism, misogyny or homophobia are tolerated. Those guilty will not only be booed off the stage, but they may also get a pastry to the face.
