We already know The Lime Truck and Seabirds are in the midst of competing in the second season of The Great Food Truck Race at this very moment. Seabirds' website has a picture of Stephanie Morgan and her two gal pals pre-race, along with this not-so-cryptic message:
“ATTENTION OC: The Seabirds Truck has been called to duty! We will not be serving Orange County for the next few weeks. We'll be sure to let you know when we're back on our home turf. . . . And yes, we miss you, too.”
But if you're wondering how it is possible The Lime Truck is still servicing OC while it's supposed to be out there filming, the answer (thanks to a commenter on my original post) is simple: it reportedly bought another truck just for the competition.
Now comes even more news from Cafe Society, the blog for our sister paper Westword in Denver, which has the scoop on who else is competing on the second season of the Food Network series.
The list after the jump.
- Hodge Podge (Cleveland, Ohio)
- Korilla BBQ (New York, New York)
- Roxy's Grilled Cheese (Boston, Massachusetts)
- Chow Truck (Salt Lake City, Utah)
- Devilicious Food Truck (San Diego, California)
- The Lime Truck (Irvine, California)
- Seabirds (Irvine, California)
- Cafe con Leche (Van Nuys, California)
And with this latest post, we now know the order of the cities they've hit so far. First, it was Las Vegas, then Salt Lake City, and they'll be in Denver this weekend. In the age of Twitter feeds and Facebook updates, I'm sure we'll know where the trucks are headed soon enough.
