Brad Williams: If I credit my mom you'd probably judge my family! I got those moves from a combination of places. I learned to dance in Jr. High because when the first dance happened I was like, I'm gonna dance but then, all the cool kids weren't dancing. So I wasn't dancing. And all the nerds were dancing but they had girls with them so I thought, “Hmmm, maybe I should give this dancing thing a shot! So I literally went home and started watching MTV when they actually played videos and started mimicking the moves that I saw. So the next time there was a dance, I was just owning it! I was break-dancing, C-walking, I was doing everything. It was pretty much like a midget version of Step Up.

Me being on April Foolishness was literally like a two year plan that my brother-in-law and I hashed out. Kevin and Bean do this Miss Double D-cember pageant and that occurs right across the street from my house at The Slide Bar in Fullerton. So I went there and talked and charmed my way back stage and when they announced the winner of the pageant, I just ran on stage and started humping her leg. No one game me permission, I just did it and it made everybody laugh. It also made people realize who I was so that put me on the map. Then the owner of the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club (Frank Kelley) introduced me to Ralph Garman who does his podcast there and Ralph was familiar with me from the pageant. We started talking and Ralph started following me on Twitter. I would post jokes and he would re-tweet them and that would get me a lot more followers. To thank him, I stopped by his podcast one night and brought him a really nice bottle of whiskey and nothing helps grease the wheels like alcohol. So Ralph asked me when I was going to come in and do the morning show and since I had a date coming up I was like, let's do it to plug a date. They had me on, thought I was funny, and then they were like, what are doing next April? I was like, doing your April Foolishness show. They kept up with me throughout the months leading up to that and allowed me to plug dates, if anything dwarf related came up they would call me, and whenever Ralph would be out I would come in and do the Showbiz Beat.

Wow. You really did your research! When I say I was in a band, I was really just the hype man. I was just the guy with the microphone that sang random lyrics, breakdanced, and kept the crowd into it. I didn't play or rehearse, I just showed up for the show and went crazy.
So did you think that was the life for you or did you know you wanted to be a comic?
I didn't know I wanted to be a comedian until I saw my first stand-up show. I went to the Brea Improv to see Carlos Mencia and during his act, he starts doing midget jokes. Half the crowd is laughing and the other half is like, ehh hemmm check out to my left. Mencia noticed there was a divide in the audience and stops the show to say, “Why aren't you guys laughing at this? What? Is one of them here?” I raised my creepy little hand in the air and he didn't flinch, he just called me up to the stage and said he wanted to talk to me. He asked me some questions and in the process of answering them, I got laughs. When that happened and I got laughs on the Brea Improv stage, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I had to do it. It was like the first shot of heroin, it was the first cigarette, it was whatever vice is the most addictive. That is what that moment was.

None at all. In high school I did a ton of theatre. I went to Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton and did theatre and improv comedy there. All of that got me ready so I didn't have stage fight at all. I was used to it by then.
