Colombian Cuisine at Mitzi's Country Kitchen to Host Colombian Christmas Faves in December

I wish I could eat more often at Colombian Cuisine at Mitze's Kountry Kitchen, the awkwardly named, awesomely awesome restaurant in Laguna Hills that's the sole Colombian restaurant in Orange County–but it's so damn far! No excuses for December, though, as the Macia family that runs it plans a special menu designed to showcase traditional Christmas food faves from their native country.

There will be tamales, of course, and natilla, a type of custard that reminds me of the Mexi arroz de leche. But the king of Colombian Cuisine's offerings will undoubtedly be the lechona tolimense, which is an oven-baked stuffed pig.

Mmm…over-baked stuffed pig. The specials will go on from December 17 through December 31st. The rest of the year, we just have to content ourselves with amazing food. See you there!
