Update: At 1 p.m., Coachella 2012 officially sold out. That shit cray. That was even faster than last year's six-day sell out.
Original post, Jan 13, 2012, 11:55 a.m.:Yep, we did say Coachella's first weekend was almost sold out before they even did today's ticket sale at 10 a.m.
At 11:52 a.m., Coachella's Facebook page posted this photo. Now that it's official, we're just waiting for weekend two to follow suit.
If it happens, and Coachella sells out both weekends of their reproduced festival, I'm assuming it means that, well, Goldenvoice has done it again: turned the concert festival experience on its head and produced something no one has ever done before…a demand for a recreated, live experience.

Many of the ticket-buyers complained that the new ticketing system Goldenvoice used wasn't up to the demand; other people wanting to buy tickets said credit cards were being
declined for no reason, and they kept being booted out of the ticketing
system. As early as 10:05 a.m. our contributor Kevin Lara posted that the Coachella ticket system was “already going haywire. cards are being declined. to people who got their tickets…you are all lucky bastards.”
