With a Virgil, Vernon and Clarence on the family tree, it would not surprise me if there is also a Claude dangling somewhere from it. And the sunspots on top of the fellow's head at right do resemble those on the noggins' of my father and recently departed uncle.
But other than that, no, ass-wipes, I do not know if I am related to Claude Lee Coker, the 80-year-old La Palma resident sentenced today to 15 years to
life in state prison for sexually assaulting five female relatives ages 5 to 11.
Coker, who denied during his trial that he touched any of his femal relatives sexually, was countered by all five victims, including the eldest girl, who is now in her teens. They said the molestations spanned a decade.
Okay, so let me reiterate right here that Coker does not refer to me but my possible Uncle Claude.
The teen testified that she felt guilty for not reporting the crimes sooner, since the creepy Coker went on to molest four other female relatives.
With each girl, Coker–Claude Coker–rubbed her chest and crotch as she sat on his lap or he tucked her in bed. The sexual touching occurred both over and under the victims' clothing, according to an Orange County District Attorney's office sentence statement.
A then-10-year-old victim finally disclosed the molestation to her mother in 2008, which was followed by a police investigation and charges against the old man. Other parents began asking their girls about their elder relative, which led to the sickening revelations from the other four victims.
A jury on Nov. 22, 2010, found Coker guilty of 12 felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years of age with sentence enhancement allegations for lewd acts of multiple victims.
