Cinco de Mayo Festival

Every year, tens of thousands of people flock to downtown Santa Ana to honor the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862—by having an all-day, rowdy festival of music, food, carnival rides, games and more food. This year marks the festival’s 12th—and in that time, this Cinco de Mayo fest has become one of the largest in Southern California (a whopping 150,000 people are expected to attend). The musical lineup includes Ozomatli, Ceci Bastida, Mexican Institute of Sound, Gustavo Galinda, plus one secret Grammy-winning act. Bring the familia and celebrate Mexico’s victory—desmadre is to be had by all.
