Prosecutors at the U.S. Department of Justice won a two-count, April indictment and then a guilty confession from Christopher William Elmore, a parolee who downloaded a huge cache of explicit child pornography that allegedly included a man sodomizing a three-year-old girl.
Elmore, who committed his crimes in Los Angeles but is being prosecuted in Orange County's Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse, signed a guilty plea in late June and faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years plus lifetime supervised probation and sex offender registration.
According to the government, Elmore's illicit stash included pornography videos of numerous children under the age of 12.
Among more than 600 recovered, still images were pictures of a 7-year-old and 10-year-old engaged in oral sex, a 9-year-old sodomized by a man and a 9-year-old named Jenny who, according to court records, was filmed performing oral sex on an adult and a dog.
U.S. District Court Judge Josephine Staton Tucker, who is based in Santa Ana, is scheduled to review the Newhall resident's guilty plea on July 3.
Officers performing a routine probation search found evidence of the crimes on the defendant's home computer.
Elmore, a recidivist who was denied bail following his latest arrest, was born in 1974.
