Cherlynn Tang was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana–making her death the first fatality at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine.
The 49-year-old Irvine resident on Sunday slipped and hit her head on the hard ice in the temporary rink erected two weeks ago in the park, which was formerly the site of the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station.
The rink is scheduled to remain in the park through Feb. 28.
