In exchange for a two-year prison sentence, a Stanton man pleaded guilty today to climbing
through the bedroom window of a former neighbor and into the bed of a
10-year-old girl.
Cesar Sotelo, 22, was looking at up to six
years in the big house without the plea deal.

Around 3 a.m. on Aug. 7, Sotelo crawled through a window and into the
bedroom of a boy and girl who were fast asleep. Sotelo awoke the girl
when he got in her bed, and he offered her $25, wrapped his
arms around her and touched her leg over her clothing.
The girl began to
struggle, waking her brother, who ran out to get their father. There was
a brief struggle with the dad before Sotelo got out of there through
the same bedroom window. Sheriff's deputies who patrol Stanton picked up Sotelo two days later.
He pleaded guilty today to one felony count of first degree residential burglary with the intent to
commit a sexual offense and an allegation for a non-accomplice present
during a residential burglary.
