Cesar Sotelo Accused of Breaking Into Ex-Neighbor's Home and Getting in Bed with 10-Year-Old Girl

A Stanton man was being arraigned this afternoon for allegedly climbing through the bedroom window of a former neighbor and into the bed of a
10-year-old girl.

Cesar Sotelo, 22, could get up to six years in state prison if convicted, and prosecutors were scheduled to ask a judge in Westminster today to hold him in lieu of $1 million bail.

Around 3 a.m. Sunday, a man crawled through a window and into the bedroom of a boy and girl who were fast asleep. The intruder got into the bed of the girl, who awoke.

Sotelo, who is accused of being the intruder, allegedly offered the girl $25, wrapped his
arms around her and touched her leg over her clothing. She began to struggle, waking her brother, who ran out to get their father. There was a brief struggle with the dad before Sotelo got out of there through the same bedroom window, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office.

Sheriff's deputies who patrol Stanton picked up Sotelo two days later. He is charged with one felony
count of first degree residential burglary with the intent to commit a
sexual offense and an allegation for a non-accomplice present during a
residential burglary.
