Cannabis Almanac: Best Events To Enjoy While High June 11- 17

Smoketh le herb

Few things are better than sparking up a joint while watching your favorite band perform. Few things are better than sparking up at an event and experiencing it on a level no one else is. Few things are better than imbibing in the greenery before eating, turning whatever you’re eating into a meal for royalty– even if it is menu option #2 from Del Taco. What we’re saying is cannabis changes the game. It can take anything from a level one to at least a level seven in just a few puffs. And now that Spring has gone and Summer is here, events are happening every weekend– events that can transform into mystical experiences of love and joy in one fell puff. Here’s a list of the best events in which to get high happening in SoCal this week. Just remember: catch a Lyft and don’t drive after getting lit.

Nightmares on Wax at the Fonda:

If there’s ever been a concert to eat an edible before and revel in the notes of hip-hop/jazzy beats, it’s 100 percent this one. Nightmares On Wax have been around for 25 years, and their musical style is expansive. You can expect to float through a rollercoaster of sound and color– especially if you take a few puffs on the smoker’s lounge rooftop that overlooks Hollywood Blvd.  If you’re in to good music, getting lit and jiving with music lovers in one of LA’s best music venues you shouldn’t miss this show.

The Temptations at The Grammy Museum:

If you don’t like the idea of getting high and seeing the Temptations, then something is wrong with you. Just kidding. But if there’s ever been a band that’s going to blow the soulful roof off the building, it’s the Temptations. Enjoy songs like “My Girl” “Ain’t To Proud To Beg” “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone” and so many more oldies jams live and experience your best life.

Low End Theory

If you haven’t been to Low End Theory, you haven’t lived– especially if you’re into the beat scene. Shockingly, fantastic underground hip hop still exists–yes, even in a world where Drake and Taylor Swift reign the charts. For the last decade, Low End Theory has nurtured some of today’s finest talent, including TOKiMONSTA, Nosaj Thing, Daedelus, Flying Lotus, the Gaslamp Killer and literally hundreds of other beat-driven artists. If you think there is a better place to puff some herb on Wednesday night, you’re sorely mistaken. Sadly, the Low End Theory era is coming to an end at the beginning of August. So if you haven’t been, you should go before the once-thriving scene fades into history’s memory. RIP  Low End Theory.

Flying Lotus • Little Dragon • BADBADNOTGOOD • Georgia Anne Muldrow

The Hollywood Bowl is going to be lit this weekend in more ways than one. Between the music, the mystical vibes and stellar music FlyLo, Little Dragon and BadBadNotGood are going to blow the proverbial roof off the Bowl this weekend. The last time I saw FlyLo at the Hollywood Bowl, I took my first dab off of a rig that someone magically finagled into the venue, which is a feat in itself. I had an out of body experience the entire duration of his set. If you don’t smoke weed, this is the event you should start, and then let the music take over your feet. If you’re looking for a night of high-vibes and music that sets your solar plexus aflame, this is where you need to be.
