Indian Jewelry

Suicide and Spacemen 3 and Sister Ray helped pull up the pavement in front of Texas’ Indian Jewelry, once one of LA’s best bands before they returned to the pitiless desert from which they (and the Geto Boys) came. Their mind-reviving beat-strobe-beat-strobe approaches forbidden limits documented only in classified CIA clinical proposals or Germs liner notes—and their every show reactivates the primal drive feared and revered by the most dedicated musicians of the post-Jack Parsons moment. Some bands settle for psychedelic, but Indian Jewelry are psychopomps—that translates directly (and correctly) to “soul conductors,” which means all you need to do is show up.
