As France deals with Wednesday's terrorism blamed on al Qaeda sympathizers, Orange County Muslims will conduct a free community forum Friday night to address another deadly group: ISIS.

“CRISIS of ISIS” is scheduled to run 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday at the Islamic Society of Orange County, 1 Al-Rahman Plaza, 9752 W. 13th St., Garden Grove. The public is invited and there is no admission fee.

Presented by Anaheim's Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) in partnership with the Islamic Society of Orange County and the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the educational event will address ISIS and its negative affects on American Muslims and Muslims worldwide, according to organizers.

As for the crisis in Paris, CAIR's National Executive Director Nihad Awad swiftly issued a statement Wednesday that said:

We strongly condemn this brutal and cowardly attack and reiterate our repudiation of any such assault on freedom of speech, even speech that mocks faiths and religious figures. The proper response to such attacks on the freedoms we hold dear is not to vilify any faith, but instead to marginalize extremists of all backgrounds who seek to stifle freedom and to create or widen societal divisions.

We offer sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed or injured in this attack. We also call for the swift apprehension of the perpetrators, who should be punished to the full extent of the law.

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization.

After the jump is the flier for the Garden Grove forum.
