Police are on the lookout for a heavyset man who tried to snatch an 8-year-old girl at a park in Buena Park the other day.

The girl was attending a Little League game with her family around 1:15 p.m. Monday at Bellis Park, which is near Knott Avenue and 8th Street, according to Detective Todd Franssen.

She and her 10-year-old sister went into the girls restroom, but as the 8-year-old was leaving, a man appeared from the large bathroom stall, grabbed the youngest child from behind and dragged her back into the stall, Franssen said.

The victim managed to push and scream, at which point the adult let go and calmly walked out of the restroom exit without being seen apparently, according to the detective, who added the sisters stayed with one another inside the restroom until it seemed safe.

The attacker was described as a dark-skinned Hispanic age 25-35, standing 6-foot-1, 280 pounds with black spiked hair, brown eyes, clean shaven and no visible tattoos. He wore a blue t-shirt, gray shorts or pants, solid black shoes and cologne, according to police, who add the sicko smelled good and did not appear to be homeless.

He could have been riding a blue beach cruiser bicycle with white diagonal stripes and tall handlebars, similar to the one below:

“Bellis Park had hundreds of people in the park at the time of this incident that may have seen the suspect, or have photos of him,” said Franssen, who asked anyone with information to call him at (714) 562-3963 or email tf*******@bp**.com.
