“We got information from a Riverside PD helicopter saying they found a LoJack hit on a stolen vehicle,” said Corona Police Lt. Shawn Dredla,
adding that her officers pursued the cyclist as far as Weir Canyon Rd.
The suspect then made his way north near the intersection of Bastanchury Rd. and Valley View Ave. where the Register reports Brea PD picked up the chase. The suspect was eventually apprehended, but not before a K-9 cruiser collided with another vehicle.
According to the Register,
the officer, and two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to the
hospital but no serious injuries were reported. The officer's dog was
taken to a veterinarian but has since been returned to its handler's
home.
